šŸ”‘ How to Create OKX API Key

Learn how to safely create an OKX USDT Swap API key for automated trading.

1. Log in to OKX

Visit OKX Official Website and log in.

Warning: Always verify you're on the official domain (okx.com).

2. Access API Management

  1. Click the profile icon in the top right corner
  2. Select API
  3. Click + Create V5 API Key button

3. Set API Key Basic Info

  1. Enter API key name (e.g., "OverBit Bot")
  2. Set Passphrase (8-32 characters, letters+numbers+special characters)
  3. Complete 2FA verification

Important: OKX requires a Passphrase in addition to API Key and Secret Key. Save all three securely.

4. Set API Permissions

Configure the following permissions:

Trade - Required
Read - Required
Withdraw - Disabled (Security)

5. Save API Key

Generated Information (save all three):

  • ā€¢ API Key: Public key
  • ā€¢ Secret Key: Private key
  • ā€¢ Passphrase: Secret phrase

All three pieces of information are required when connecting the exchange in the dashboard.
